In a world obsessed with fame and followers, Shine flips the script. This curriculum teaches kids that real greatness comes from giving God glory — not chasing it for ourselves. Through five action-packed days, children explore the five biblical crowns that Scripture promises to believers who shine for Jesus here on earth. And the most amazing part? One day, they’ll cast those crowns right back at His feet.

Every session is anchored in Scripture. Kids actively open their Bibles, dig into real passages, and hear the gospel presented clearly and boldly. The daily Go Fish teaching videos kick off each Bible Study with an engaging object lesson before your teachers take the reins. It’s theologically rich without being boring — because when you’re drumming bucket beats in a glow room and watching mirror balls spin, boring isn’t an option.

The Theme

Shine uses the imagery of light, mirrors, and crowns to teach a profound biblical truth: God is the source of all glory, and we exist to reflect it back to Him. Think mirror balls, glow rooms, neon colors, and high-energy worship — all pointing kids to the One who is the light of the world.

The recurring characters in the daily “Crowns of Heaven” skit build a storyline throughout the week that reinforces the teaching in a way kids remember. DJ Pray-Z, the animated Go Fish character, adds personality to the video segments and becomes a favorite with kids.

5-Day Bible Teaching Breakdown

Every session is built on Scripture and centered on the Gospel. Each day explores one of the five biblical crowns — showing kids that when we shine for Jesus, He promises eternal reward.

DAY 1: CROWN OF VICTORY

Memory Verse: "Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." — 1 Corinthians 9:25
Bible Story: The Tower of Babel • Genesis 11
Kids discover that building something for our own glory always fails — but living for God’s glory leads to a crown of victory that lasts forever. The Tower of Babel shows what happens when we try to make a name for ourselves instead of honoring God’s name.

DAY 2: CROWN OF LIFE

Memory Verse: "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him." — James 1:12
Bible Story: Stephen’s Faith • Acts 7
The Ten Commandments are given to us by God to help us see our sin. God is the standard of perfection and we can never be good enough on our own. Children will see that we all sin by breaking God’s laws. Our sin is the barrier between God and us — but God provided a way through His Son, Jesus.

DAY 3: CROWN OF REJOICING

Memory Verse: "For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy." — 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20
Bible Story: Jesus Calls the First Disciples • Luke 5
When Jesus called His first disciples, they left everything to follow Him — and then brought others to Jesus. Kids learn that the crown of rejoicing is earned by sharing the gospel and helping others come to faith. Leading someone to Jesus is the greatest joy.

DAY 4: CROWN OF GLORY

Memory Verse: "And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away." — 1 Peter 5:4
Bible Story: John the Baptist • Matthew 3
Children will read about the rich young man in Mark 10. Although the man thought he was a good person, Jesus pointed out that he loved his possessions more than God. There is nothing we can do on our own to earn our place in Heaven. It is only by God’s grace that He forgives those who believe.

DAY 5: CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Memory Verse: "Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day — and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." — 2 Timothy 4:8
Bible Story: Paul’s Charge to Be Ready • 2 Timothy 4
Paul fought the good fight and kept the faith. On the final day, kids hear the gospel invitation clearly: all who put their trust in Jesus and long for His return will receive the crown of righteousness. This is the culmination of the week — a clear call to faith.
